Princeton Animal League (PAL) is a non-profit corporation which, pursuant to its Articles of Incorporation, has been formed to "promote, support, and assist in the establishment and administration of animal protection, care, and control programs to serve the citizens and animals of Princeton, Kentucky, and Caldwell County, Kentucky."
PAL is exempt from Federal income tax under 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and contributions to the organization are deductible under section 170 of the Code. The IRS approved the group's tax exempt status by letter dated May 2, 2008, with the effective date of the exemption retroactive to the date of PAL's incorporation under Kentucky law (October 1, 2007). PAL, which is currently designated as a public charity by the IRS, is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Internal Revenue Code. PAL is governed by a four-member Board of Directors, who also serve as elected Officers of the corporation (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer). PAL operates under bylaws adopted by the Board of Directors, consistent with applicable requirements of the Kentucky Revised Statutes.
